Strategic Use of Keywords Is Pivotal When It Comes To Search Engine Marketing

Anyone who knows a little bit about search engine marketing will tell you that content is a necessity. What few people realize however, is the importance of high ranking keywords in titles, page headings and throughout the body of the content itself. Without the strategic use of keywords in such areas, websites are just blank properties in cyberspace, that don’t often see visitors. While this can be frustrating, increasing traffic to your site can be made easier by using keywords appropriately.

For instance, if I am a personal injury lawyer in Houston that specializes in DUIs, I may word the title of my article to read “Houston DUI & Personal Injury Lawyer”. While this doesn’t seem at all imaginative and pretty generic, this simplistic approach will lead search engine users directly to me when they search for a Houston personal injury lawyer who specializes in DUIs. Placing keywords, within the body of an article, will also help maximize the number of site visitors you receive.

In the end, websites are marketing tools that pitch a company or a service to site visitors by means of cyberspace. If your site doesn’t have visitors, your content isn’t being read and your products and services aren’t being marketed–and without marketing the end of your company can’t be too far behind.

Setting Up Pay Per Click in Google Part I

Setting up Pay-Per-Click (PPC) in Google requires careful attention to detail and extensive keyword research. Not only must you do the keyword research but also you need to make sure the keywords relate specifically to what you are advertising. Too many times I have seen two totally unrelated businesses show up on the same page. If my business is Search Engine Marketing, I do not want to rank under Telemarketer. Once keywords are narrowed down, the process of creating ad groups begins. Like choosing keywords that are relevant to your business, ad groups must also contain relevant keywords.

Example: Ad group - A/C Installation
Keyword  - a/c installation contractor, a/c installer, etc.

Narrowing down keywords and creating ad groups is important because the chances that someone will click on an ad is greater. Everytime someone clicks on an ad in Google, it is probably because the keyword they typed is in the ad more than once. Research the right keywords, narrow them down into ad groups and make sure your keywords exist in your ads.

5 Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Techniques To Help Your Website Create Sales On Google!

(1.) Domain Name using your main keyword. Be sure to have what you sell and where you sell it in the name if at all possible. HoustonAttorney.com is a good name for ranking under Houston Attorney.

(2.) Meta Tags - The title tag should be the exact phrase you want to rank under. Houston Attorney would be a good title meta tag for the above example. The meta tag description should also contain the keywords 2 times, at diffferent intervals, in the description and the first two keywords should be Houston and Attorney. The meta tag content should be on the page or the page will not rank under the keywords. It will be a penalty instead.

(3.) The content must have the keywords you want to rank under as the first words the Search Engine will see on your website. For example, the Houston Attorney Guy would have a H1 Tag on his site that is big and bold using the keywords Houston Attorney John Doe. Remember the word Lawyer is a good synonym for Attorney. You would want to have his specialty as a page too.

(4.) Article distribution for Links and Wiki Development. Directory Links (paid ones like Yahoo Help). Back linking is the most important part of SEO. Who links to you?  Can you get links from people and how?  Have Press Releases often as new stuff arises. Use the main keywords in the your release titles. Try and get text links from people using your main keyphrase. For example, a link from this blog to Houston Attorney will help the site rank under those keyphrases.

(5.) Have a good call to action plan on the website and answer the phone when people call. No voice mail, no auto attendant. More than half of your leads will hang up and not call back, if you don’t answer their questions right now. This is the most important thing about the leads people get over the Internet. People will buy from you now if you answer their needs now. Good luck with you Search Engine Optimzation.
