Here at Directory One, we believe that one can increase traffic to their website without cutting big checks. Instead, we firmly believe in relatively inexpensive ways to draw in website traffic. The secret to organic search engine marketing lies in some of the techniques listed below! For more information about how to increase website traffic, call Directory One at 713.465.0051.

Easy Ways to Increase Website Traffic

Quality Content
The written content on your website should be unique, informative, relevant to your target, and – most importantly – written for human beings. We’ve all seen those websites that repeat the same phrases and keywords over and over again. By the end of the paragraph, you feel like you have just sifted through your spam mail. Search engines will punish your website for over-saturating your website with keywords. So make sure you aren’t writing just for Google’s spiders and robots. Just be yourself and write to your potential customers!

Optimized Content
Once you’ve written quality content for a webpage or blog post, it is time to go back and optimize the content for the internet. First, do a bit of research on what terms people would use to find your type of website. Next, isolate the keyword phrases you would like your website to show up for. Once you have picked a few keyword phrases, select on phrase and make sure it is in the title, description, and h1 tag of your content. This helps search engines determine what your webpage is about and, if well-written, will help improve your rankings, and thereby your traffic.

Not Just Quality; It Is About Quantity Too
Make sure you have a lot of quality content on your website and that you regularly add more. You want to make sure your website is active!

Enlist in Directories
Make sure to get your website registered with the biggest directories. Not only will it bring in traffic from other sites, but it will also create back links, which also helps improve your rankings.

Get Engaged!
Social media has made communication between businesses and the public easier than ever before. Create social media accounts, such as Facebook and Twitter, and add those links to your website. These profiles are a fantastic way to share information about your business and help you stay connected with your customers.

Some websites may need the extra marketing boost. Call Directory One at 713.465.0051 to learn about our services and how to increase website traffic through search engine optimization!

5 SEO Steps for More Traffic in 2013 https://www.directoryone.com/blog/5-seo-steps-for-more-traffic-in-2013.html Sun, 13 Jan 2013 05:56:26 +0000 http://www.directoryone.com/blog/?p=2084 Your SEO strategy to drive more traffic to your website for Houston business growth should be a priority in 2013. Like time, your business is not stationary. When was the last time you evaluated your website’s performance?

Your website needs a tune-up from time to time, just like your car. Your transportation should get you from point A to point B reliably. You should get power when you need it.

In terms of your site, that means attracting traffic and increasing your leads.

The beginning of the year is a good time to assess your current SEO strategy. If you’re slipping in ranking or aren’t ranking as anticipated, it’s time for a major website over-haul. If you are ranking highly, you might not want to change. Still, there’s always room to fine-tune your website’s engine.

Assessing your website’s SEO strategy performance is a relatively uncomplicated task. There are 5 simple steps to the process.

  1. Review your analytics from the last 6 months. Pay special attention to browsers, search engines, and keywords. Browsers will tell you if most of your traffic comes from PCs and laptops or mobile devices. Search engines are important, because the traffic from Google might be searching using different keywords from your Bing traffic.
  2. Reevaluate your site with a keyword analysis. Are your current keywords working to drive traffic to your site? Are there any new keywords you can add? Then do some keyword research with Google’s keyword tool. Type in any new keywords and everything that you can think of as synonyms or related to the new search. Make a short list of the top relevant related keywords. Pay special attention to long-tailed keywords, and make sure you write them down. It’s best to keep your list of keywords you want to add to 10 or so.
  3. Perform a content analysis. Really look at your content. Are there current keywords that you are using that are not generating traffic? You might consider re-writing those pages using more appropriate keywords. Are you adding keywords? If so, you should develop relevant content using the new keywords. Utilize the keywords by creating pages that just use one or two of your new keywords on each page. You can do this by either adding articles or blogs, but blogging is usually the easiest route to take.
  4. Check your backlinks and outbound links. Is your backlinking strategy working? Are your outbound links referencing authoritative, reliable sites? A lot of your search ranking is dependent on the quality and quantity to your site from other webpages. Your SEO strategy should include linking. You can help your backlink strategy by posting your link on social media, being listed on online directories, guest blogging, posting thoughtful questions and answers on other website’s comment sections and forums. Likewise, check your outbound links to make sure they reference authoritative, noncompeting sites.
  5. Pay attention to your monthly analytics results. You need to see if your new strategies are working. You will also want to keep up with your keyword and social media trends to make future projections. Future projections indicate when you might need to perform another website tune-up.

You made all sorts of New Year’s resolutions – maybe to get in shape, drink less coffee, run in the 2014 Houston Marathon, or even travel the world. Why not make a resolution to give your website an SEO strategy tune-up? And if you need help analyzing your site or revving up those keywords and content, give Directory One a call toll free at (713) 465-0051
