Help Our Community
We are currently accepting volunteer editors for the Directory One, Inc. directory, Check Houston. Your duties would consist of researching possible entries for our directory, checking their validity and entering them in our directory correctly. We are looking for responsible people interested in bettering our community.
How does the Directory One Content Editor Program Work?
The Content Editor Program is FREE to join and easy to use. Once you sign up you will be given a Login ID and Password to access our content entry system. Once in this system you will be able to add a link (in the appropriate category) by providing the following information about the web site through our easy to use form:
Most of this information can be pulled from the source code in the HTML of the web site's homepage. Once you are done you will submit the listing to a content moderator who has the authority to approve the listing and make it live in the directory. If your submission has been added correctly, and the web site is not included in our directory already, you will be credited for that listing. To avoid entering duplicate listings, you can always check if a site is already listed in our database by typing, "url:domain.com" in the search box at the top of our homepage.
Who Can Be a Directory One Content Editor?
Anyone in the U.S. can join our program - you don't even need to live in Houston, but of course every web site you submit must be from a Houston-based resource. If you are interested in starting a Check Directory in your city, Contact Us.
