The reason for this is simple - time and money - but the reality is a bit more complex. By doing it this way, we can produce an excellent site for our clients that ranks "well" organically and then base our next role - that of an SEO company on a foundation where we know how things are being picked up and what pages specifically need attention. With small business owners who simply don't have 10's of thousands of dollars to spend, this allows us to do incrimental SEO, one page at a time, rather than a huge project to overhaul an entire site.
