Journalist have been well underpaid in the past. Most journalist love their job and love to be writers so much they will do it at any price. I have had many journalist work for me over the years for as little as eight or ten dollars a hour. Many of these people have talent and want to write at any price. It is their calling and their passion in life. They love to communicate with the written word. Writers who write technical content or niche writing that is very boring tend to paid the most. Marketing writers sometimes make good pay, however they are usually underpaid as well.

My suggestion to people who like to write is to try a website design company like mine who specializes in getting your writing visable at the top of search results. Get yourself trained to write content that appears at the top of search results in Google, Yahoo, and MSN. Reading websites like mine, www.directoryone.com will help you learn what you need to know about writing on the web. Writing is the most important job at any company whether the owner knows it or not; it should be compensated accordingly as the market will see fit in the future.
